Logan Wade Paintings About

My story is simple. I loved to draw as a kid. Yes, I was that kid - a stranger to any kind of real athletic ability. Sure, I played baseball and football in the front yard as a youngster, but it never did anything for me. I never understood the fascination with competition or winning for that matter. I just wanted to create.

I live in the small town of Linton, Indiana (population: 6,500). It's where I grew up, and where I plan on living for a long time. As you can imagine, there's not a whole lot going on in a small town. So, when I was younger, I had to find something to do to keep me entertained. That something was art.

As far as art goes, I started taking myself seriously about the time I was in the 3rd or 4th grade. I really liked to draw superheroes, sci-fi landscapes, robots, etc. Comic books were my fuel, my escape from reality. I would flip through volumes of Stan Lee's X-Men drawing random pictures of the series' numerous characters. I went a step farther and started drawing my own heroes and villains, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and backgrounds. It was enjoyable, even fulfilling. I'll never forget those days or the endless support from my friends and family.

So it went through the rest of grade school, junior high, and high school. The superheroes died down once I got older, but my love for art in general remained. I later took on painting - acrylics and watercolors mostly. Acrylics eventually won the battle as you can see.

After high school I attended Vincennes University (Vincennes, Indiana) where I received a degree in Graphic Design. It was a new challenge, a different way to view art and creativity altogether. I received great advice from my instructors and, conveniently enough, landed a job in Linton as a graphic designer.

So, here I am, making art in my free time - each piece telling its own story in some way. My wife, son, family, and friends, it's because of them that I'm able to do what I do. As long as I'm creating, I'm happy. No restraints. No rules. No competition.
